20+ years ago we bought 31 acres of land for the 10 horses we had and was lucky enough to get to spend a couple of weekends a month horseback riding in the mountains of North Carolina. On one of those weekend trips we had stopped in the little outpost store to grab some breakfast. My husband Allen found a small slate with a line drawing of a horse etched on it. It wasn't anything fancy, a pretty basic outline of a horse head but it set some wheels in motion. I knew I wanted to try to do that myself. So he bought that little slate and I took it home and looked at it for months while I was doing my research about etching with a sandblaster. P.S. I still have that little slate all these years later. Reminds me what has led us to where we are today. |
